Mark Mohr was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated with a B.F.A. in Design from Wichita State University. In 1983 he moved to Kansas City where he continues to study and paint .
His commissioned works include Amoco, Lee Jeans, Sprint, Southwestern Bell, Land-O-Lakes, Hoechst Marion Roussel, M&I Bank, Lockton Companies, LLC, and Clinical Reference Lab, Inc. . Mark's paintings exhibit a broad expanse of portrait, still lifes, cityscapes, and landscapes.

He has illustrated several children's books. The Storm, by Marc Harshman, published by Cobblehill Books, an imprint of Penguin USA, captured the "PARENTS CHOICE AWARD" and was nominated to Smithsonian Magazine's top 50 Children's Book of 1995. (November 1995) : 164-173.
